Careportalinc Sr. Data Analyst, Finance at Careportalinc to lead strategic performance improvement analyses in healthcare revenue cycle. Translate complex data into actionable recommendations and value stories for senior leaders and clients.
Responsibilities
Cedar is a patient payment and engagement platform that leverages data science and consumer-centric design to improve the healthcare experience.
We are seeking a Sr. Strategist, Value Analytics to join our team during a pivotal phase as Value Analytics continues to shift from high-volume operational support toward high-impact strategic initiatives and growth priorities.
This role is designed for a senior individual contributor who can bridge healthcare revenue cycle expertise, performance improvement analytics, and strategic problem solving at a broader and more influential level. This role will help Cedar and its clients understand where performance gaps exist, what is driving them, and how to translate data into actionable recommendations, scalable frameworks, and compelling value stories. This framing reflects the team’s broader need to move from reporting output toward more consultative, strategic analytics work.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in revenue cycle management, experience using analytics to diagnose business performance, and a consulting-oriented mindset. They are comfortable leading through ambiguity, shaping analytical direction, partnering with senior internal and external stakeholders, and developing insight narratives that influence decisions for prospective and current clients.
At this level, success means not only delivering high-quality analyses independently, but also helping define where the team should focus, improving how Value Analytics works, and raising the bar for how Cedar connects analysis to action.
Lead the most strategic and complex performance improvement analyses across Cedar’s products and client base, identifying trends, root causes, and opportunities related to patient billing, collections, self-pay performance, and broader revenue cycle outcomes.
Translate complex data into clear, persuasive value stories for senior internal leaders, prospective clients, and existing clients, with an emphasis on financial impact, operational opportunity, and patient experience.
Own high-priority workstreams tied to Cedar’s roadmap and market differentiation by helping quantify value, frame business cases, and surface insights that inform growth priorities and product direction.
Conduct and oversee standard and bespoke analyses such as ROI modeling, collections lift analysis, benchmarking, trend analysis, and performance deep dives that help teams understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what to do next.
Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Client Management, Product, Data Science, and Data Platform teams to scope analyses, validate findings, and ensure recommendations are grounded in both data and operational reality.
Develop a deep understanding of how client data is structured, mapped, and interpreted within Cedar’s ecosystem in order to troubleshoot issues, strengthen measurement approaches, and improve analytical credibility.
Shape analytical approaches, playbooks, and frameworks that make Value Analytics more scalable, consistent, and proactive over time.

Required
7+ years of experience in consulting, strategic analytics, performance improvement, revenue cycle analytics, value engineering, business intelligence, or similar analytically rigorous, business-facing roles.
Strong revenue cycle management knowledge, including familiarity with patient billing workflows, collections performance, and the metrics that matter most to provider organizations.
Experience using data to diagnose business performance, develop recommendations, and tell a clear story to non-technical audiences.
Strong analytical toolkit, including comfort working with large datasets and leveraging standard AI tools to complete complex analyses, synthesize findings, and answer nuanced business questions.
Demonstrated ability to independently lead ambiguous, high-stakes analytical work and turn it into structured recommendations that influence cross-functional decisions.
Ability to synthesize ambiguous inputs into structured narratives, practical recommendations, and stakeholder-ready materials.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across functions and levels of seniority, including senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
Experience working in a client-facing or consultative environment where success depended on both analytical rigor and credibility with business stakeholders.
Track record of improving processes, frameworks, or ways of working that help a team scale beyond one-off analysis.
Preferred
Prior experience in healthcare consulting or performance improvement work focused on revenue cycle optimization.
Familiarity with EHR and billing data ecosystems, including platforms such as Epic or Cerner and how those systems interface with patient-facing tools.
Experience with benchmarking, baselining, or value realization analyses in a healthcare or SaaS environment.
Experience building dashboards in BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Omni, with the understanding that dashboard development is a supporting capability rather than the core focus of the role.
Exposure to data modeling, dbt, or analytics engineering concepts that improve partnership with technical teams, even if hands-on ownership is not central to the role.
The Ideal Candidate
You are energized by using data to solve real business problems, especially where performance improvement and operational context matter as much as technical execution. You know how to go beyond reporting what happened and instead explain what is driving the result, what it means for the business, and what should happen next.
You are comfortable operating like an internal consultant: listening closely, diagnosing issues, forming hypotheses, and building credibility through thoughtful analysis and clear communication. You can be hands-on in the data, but your greatest strength is connecting the analysis to action.
